Camp Manito-wish Staff Mission & Expectations

"Working at Manito-wish has really helped me develop and apply a leadership style that I can use while working in the outdoor education industry. The quality of resources and staff I have worked with at Camp and the trips we go on are what keep me coming back year after year."

                                   -Dan

Our mission is to provide fun, life-enriching experiences for our campers. We will work to see that all those who are associated with us have a Manito-wish Experience where each participant grows in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God, and in favor with one another. (Luke 2:52)

Manito-wish believes that the trail, the core of our program, blended with traditional camp activities is the best way to accomplish our mission. Over 86 years of experience in wilderness tripping and program activities have enriched the leadership skill of our staff and the campers we serve. Many of our staff continue to be successful in their careers, family, and community because of the leadership training and experience gained through working at Camp Manito-wish.

Join us at Camp Manito-wish! You will gain personal confidence and skill that can transfer into any career field of your choice. Most importantly, you will influence the participants in your care by providing a lifelong and enriching experience.
Expectations of Staff:
  • Healthy personal philosophy to live by and share with others.
  • Positive self-identity.
  • Knowledge of group skills and willingness to work closely with peers and campers.
  • Proven ability and concern for youth, and a desire to positively influence their development.
  • Openness to change, new experiences, hard work, long hours, fun personal development and sharing yourself with others.
