LEADERSHIP ADVENTURE
Ages 16-18  (entering 11th-12th grade)

Boys Session: June 30- July 13, 2008

Girls Session: August 6-19, 2008

Renowned for our wilderness tripping program, and widely recognized and respected for our Leadership Program, we are excited to offer the Leadership Adventure Program, an experience that blends our strengths of wilderness tripping and leadership for our future Manito-wish leaders.

As a part of the Leadership Adventure Program you will learn things about yourself and others that are of great benefit to you now and in the future. This program is an adventurous, hands-on introduction to, and practice of, the principles of collaborative leadership, group dynamics, and experiential and outdoor education.

The Lang Challenge Course, abundant trails, beautiful trees and the wilderness will be your classroom for 14 days.

The Manito-wish Leadership Center and the high and low challenge courses, set in the majestic pines of the Northwoods, will provide an incredible setting to learn the principles of collaborative problem solving, group dynamics and development, and personal and group awareness.

Next, you will put these principles into action as you embark on a 6-day wilderness. which your group has planned. In addition to enjoying the amazingly beautiful scenery and wildlife, you will learn and hone outdoor skills, and how to pass these skills on to others.

When you return to Camp, you will have the opportunity to share your leadership and outdoor skills with others through presentations and activities with the Summer Camp program. You will also have the opportunity to shadow current Manito-wish staff members to observe and learn from them.

At the end of the session you'll evaluate your experience, your own growth, and learn about opportunities to become a Manito-wish staff member.  The knowledge base that you have gained from this experience will serve you well throughout your all aspects of your life: family, community and career.
