Ages 15-16 (entering 10th or 11th grade)

After four days of trip preparation at Camp Manito-wish, you will head out on the trail for fourteen days of wilderness and adventure. Trip preparation will include opportunities to get to know your trip mates, food and equipment pack-out, first aid basics, map and compass skills, and hiking or paddling techniques. You will then apply your knowledge during a full two weeks on the trail.
Pioneer Canoeing

Imagine yourself canoeing through the remote and rugged glacier-formed lakes of Quetico Provincial Park. Located in Southern Ontario, Canada, the Park provides ample opportunity to navigate undisturbed waterways and encounter abundant wildlife. Following the routes of the French fur traders, your group will paddle 8-15 miles per day and encounter a variety of portages.

Isle Royale Backpacking

Isle Royale National Park, surrounded by Lake Superior, presents a unique backpacking environment. The Minong and Greenstone Ridge Trails will challenge your strength and endurance, and provide picturesque views of the valleys and Lake Superior. During your trip you will hike 6-10 miles per day on the 160-mile trail system and camp on the shores of Lake Superior or interior lakes.

Georgian Bay Sea Kayaking

Located on the northern reaches of Lake Huron, Georgian Bay is a sea kayaker's paradise. Your trip will begin in the North Channel and paddle 10-15 miles per day to the eastern edge of the Georgian Bay. Exposed crossings, navigation through thousands of islands and the prevailing western summer winds will challenge your paddling skills. The rugged hills of Killarney Provincial Park and the low-lying granite on the Canadian Shield will astound you with their beauty.
