There are so many ways to get involved. You can help to keep the traditions and share the Manito-wish experience. Here a few ways that you can help:

Recommend Manito-wish to friends and family

A great way to support Manito-wish is to ensure strong enrollment. Let's make sure as many young people as possible benefit from a Manito-wish experience in 2010. Please invite potential camper families to a Manito-wish event. Click here for event listings.

Memorial Day Work Weekend Volunteers

There a many opportunities to volunteer in the Boulder Junction office or even from your home!

  • Memorial Day Work Weekend - Help get camp ready for the summer.
  • Annual Fund Drive - Assist us in contacting Manito-wish alumni and friends for donations.
  • Alumni Events - Host alumni events in your area.

Camp Manito-wish YMCA offers several options for financial contributions.

  • Annual Fund Drive - supports Camperships, program enhancement, staff training, and equipment replacement.
  • Restricted Gifts - funds to support special projects or programs.
  • In-kind Contributions - program supplies, vehicles, equipment, services, tools, etc. Contact Camp to discuss our current needs.
  • Help us identify other donors, foundations and corporations
  • Tribute Gifts
    • An honorary gift will recognize a special individual, occasion, or accomplishment.
    • A memorial gift will remember a family member or friend. Gifts recognize both the donor and family of those honored/remembered.
  • Planned Giving - enables you to make a significant gift while receiving life income and/ or tax advantages. You can also contribute assets through wills, life insurance or estate plans.
  • Join the Fires of Friendship Circle.
What is the Fires of Friendship Circle?

It is a program which provides long-range financial stability for the Camp Manito-wish YMCA, benefiting children, families, and adults today and for generations to come.

What is the purpose of the Fires of Friendship Circle?

The Circle's purpose is to encourage thoughtful giving as a primary means of building a strong endowment capable of providing lasting support for the Camp Manito-wish YMCA mission. It also serves to recognize members whose leadership, service, and devotion to the Camp Manito-wish have created this heritage.

Who are members?

They are men and women who believe in the mission of the Camp Manito-wish YMCA, share its ideals and traditions, and have made a commitment to ensure that this heritage is continued for future generations.

How does one qualify for membership?

Membership in the Fires of Friendship Circle requires a commitment which now, or in the future, will add to the Manito-wish Endowment Fund. There are a variety of programs available to qualify, including:

  • An Outright Gift - cash or appreciated securities at a level of $10,000 or greater.
  • Gifts of Life Insurance - naming Camp Manito-wish YMCA as owner or beneficiary of a policy.
  • Testamentary Gifts - a will bequest designating a specific amount, assets, or percentage of the donor's estate.
  • Trusts - a form of a charitable trust can be established that will provide the donor with income and/or tax advantage.
What is the Endowment Fund?

The Camp Manito-wish Endowment Fund provides scholarships for participants from all walks of life, support for camping and leadership programs, maintenance of facilities, or other important objectives designated by donors. A portion of the investment income produced by each gift is used to benefit ongoing programs while the principal remains intact.

Are naming opportunities available?

Memorial and tribute naming opportunities are available which can provide a lasting and fitting recognition for someone special in the donor's life.

How is the Fund managed?

The Board of Directors of the Camp Manito-wish YMCA has overall responsibility for managing these funds, including preservation, growth, and use. Investment of these gifts is delegated by the Board to the Investment Committee who contracts with professional fund managers to assist them.
